Understanding Advertising & Media!
Although both the terms are used synonymously, they carry differences in their functions, Advertisements are the means through which companies communicate with their audiences creatively and persuade them in to buying their products, advertisements contain a brief description about the product, its functions, uses, advantages, benefits and showcasing itself in front of the targeted audience. Now, the medium through which these advertisements reach the final customers is known as Media. There are various kinds of media people use these days, and with internet craze sprawling day on day, people are making use of internet advertising through banner ads, contextual ads, search engine ads, and others. The list of medium through which advertisements are done goes endless, with increasing awareness and the rights of consumers to know, all mediums are getting exhausted but Internet is a new rise giving hopes to millions of advertisers who were looking for the right medium to communicate to its audience.
Whatever medium you might select, Advertisement designing is done with a proper strategic planning taking in to consideration the targeted audience, while Internet media caters to more of a younger generation, newspaper medium might be more popular with older people, it might not necessarily be the fact but the point is the advertisements campaigns are kicked off with proper research, planning, analyzes, studying the market graph, the type of customers living in a particular area, etc. each of the mediums of advertising, the Media, is the main entity publishing your product to the final customers. The medium you select is important from the point of view of publishers as well the audiences, they should be using that medium in their daily lives to see your advertisements.
In a virtual world of Internet, the technological developments are happening at such a faster pace, that there is no limit on the medium and media you can use, people are developing new things and seeking its benefits in a bigger way by developing and strengthening their hold on the medium they are using whether on Internet or physical advertisements. Advertising mediums are inter connected with each other, only if we truly know how they connect to each other, for whatever means you require a computer to type your ad, for designing and for printing purposes, you can get either the virtual copies that would be displayed on search engines or either the pamphlets being distributed at a mega store, its all a media circle.
Branding is yet another essence of advertisements, Brands are built when they become popular and people remember them even after its launch 5 years ago. New companies aren’t necessarily serious about branding with so many competitors around it gets difficult to build a brand, though branding plays a very crucial role in getting your products in public’s attention. Everywhere the markets are getting saturated, people are losing their interest in the traditional media and more importance is placed on the modern Internet media but the older media has its own charm and fascination and it still attracts millions of audiences worldwide, the most important question is HOW YOU USE THE MEDIUM and WHAT MESSAGE YOU PASS ACROSS?
