Can Advertising Ever Die?



The global nations of the world are getting smaller by the day, everything seems to be coming close to each other, all seems to be so magnetic because of the Internet wired world. Smaller world doesn’t mean literally the smaller world but we are able to find people so quickly, if you want some product from abroad – you can order it online and have at your doorstep, if you want to eat some specialized item in a world class restaurant in New York – you can still have it in your own country through chain restaurants, so you see world is getting smaller, you can enjoy each and every benefit of every thing you wish to have. The changing world of today is all about 3 main IT ingredients, the computers, the internet and networks, and people are still thinking of C2C marketing, does it really exist today and do you really still need the term Advertise to sell off your wares. This remains still bigger a question even after researching so much in this field, why is this? Advertise has been in existent in markets all over the world and will live with us forever may be in a different manner or the modes in which we advertise today.

As the time changes, advertising is changing, olden days saw ads in newspapers, magazines, pamphlets, or other traditional modes like door to door knocking, etc. but as internet era came in, it started with advertising banners, publishing on company websites, the pop-up advertising, etc and as it grew even more further the search engines are in demand with huge blogging networks – they are really the means to go with so many options at your disposal like the banner ads on blogs, the tag lines of any famous network or in search engines - the adsense are very famous. What here I am trying to portray is the way we did advertising and how faster it got in just no time, time may be going slow, we still have those 24 hours in a day and we still do the same activities but we changed a little to get more faster in our daily activities with all machine items and internet is the fastest mode of communication today so you can expect to send across the message or a document in a matter of just few seconds, nothing less or more.

The main concern of advertising is just not to publicize an item but building a brand, building a brand is altogether a new chapter in advertising though, but brands are the things that are ingrained in the minds of people forever. You must surely be able to recollect the ads you saw in TVs as a child, this is what the effect has, you still remember it even after ages and prefer particular products while on a shopping, why, because the impact it has on our minds. Creative ads are here again even when you don’t advertise on a national television, building a small PowerPoint presentation on any famous networks would do the trick. In the real terms of sense, advertising is much more than ads, it’s a deeper concept that only creative person or professionals in the field would know, today we have a specialized branch in business school dealing in just marketing, while we have ads studios taking big projects for multi national while we even have boutiques catering to particular class of people. Its just not about simple advertisements any more, its inclusive of all the modern day activities we do in our daily lives. We are so mesmerized by creative ads we knowingly or unknowingly become their loyal customers and as the time will change again, we will still have better modes and activities and by this I know Advertising will never die!
