Leadership is a tough task in the corporate world, and if you are not in a position lead your team, and cannot take charge, will eventually be like a piece of wood which has no mind of its own and is directionless and keeps on floating in the river.

Leadership in simple terms is to plan, think, and implement your ideas in to actions on day to day basis, and making changes as the situation demands without losing control. A great leader at the end of the day takes stock of what was accomplished in the day, what were his shortcomings and failures of the day, carry forward effectively the unfinished business next day in a better way. Jotting down seems silly to many, but is a great tool for organized leader as these help you to focus on your tasks and value time management.

A great leader prioritizes his job in order of importance, and delegates the pressing work immediately while not so important tasks are kept on hold. Leadership is not reacting to criticism, negativity, but reacting only to constructive criticism as well as positivity.

A true leader must learn to say positive- no- if the situation demands as sometimes we cannot say no to please and oblige others and land ourselves in a mess. True leadership is having the courage and attitude to say positive-no, and take stand no matter what the consequences.

A true leader accepts his shortcomings and resolves to take steps immediately to rectify the situation, and ensures these resolutions do not remain on paper but are followed religiously.

True leadership is taking charge. True leadership is walking as a unit and not as an individual in isolation. It takes a lot of time to become a true leader and master the art of leadership skills. But with time you can surely become a successful leader if you have the inclination and will to do so.
