The recovery of the global financial parameters is still pending but people can’t make their business wait till the financial resurgence. Business concerns always looks for ways to increase its revenue whatever the economic situation of the world be. Every company has a clientele which acts as a chief driving force of the business. Hence, it demands using of CRM tools that can lock the customer loyalty and thus maximizing profitability. There can be several such tools and readers of my blog have definitely read at least hundreds so far. But I will not insist to read as my write-up includes only the crucial CRM tools that are suitable to let a company survive in precarious economic condition. It doesn’t explain all the tools to make a piece of writing laden with words.

The first CRM tool in my opinion is definitely building a growth strategy for clientele. The customer growth shall rest on a CRM foundation and on a model of cost management. To initiate this strategy a company needs to know the strategic intent or needs to develop transparent metrics that can gauge performance. I have read about many companies that have cut cost in the area customer-facing functions in order to lower their cost of serving their clients. But cost management or finance and accounting don’t involve customer-facing functions at all. However, reducing the cost of sale is feasible when an economy is in downswing. The modification of cost structure should be intended to invest in CRM fields that can result in business winning whatever the economic situation is. This will give an opportunity of increase the effectiveness of customer retention through various loyalty programs. This will eventually lead to the betterment of the company once the economy gains back momentum.

Another CRM tool that companies can adopt during financial downturn is to avoid relying on a single CRM technology. Typically, a fall in economic health translates shaking out of CRM vendors. Naturally, relying on a single technology might prove fatal for a company. The shake out has definitely reduced total volume of vendors of CRM solutions in the market but it has also left back only the strongest vendors of CRM technology solutions. This will enable companies to choose among few vendors. I would recommend companies to choose solutions that have vertical or decent customization application built within their software.

Every move to implement a CRM tool in hard economic times must be strategic and should include the cost to the company. Any extravagant cost model will make companies fall in such an unstable scenarios. It is time to buckle up with CRM tools that is best for recession and winning strategies when economy revives.

CRM or customer relationship management is instrumental for any company to keep their clientele satisfied and thus make business. Whether we make an account in bank or buy a cooking utensil, customer relationship executives are always there to sort out our problems. But have we ever imagined the expanse of CRM line-up and how crucial it is for software giants. Recent news about Microsoft and Salesforce has insisted me to think about it deeply.

The customer relationship management software makes a huge market among the firms selling either products or services. Every firm requires CRM programs and it is an integral part of a firm’s business expansion. A good CRM policy not only satisfies existing customer, but also brings hope to make new customers.

Microsoft Corporation, of late, has modified its pricing strategy for CRM software to entice more customers. This recent aggressive move in prices by Microsoft is solely meant to weaken its rival; Salesforce Inc.

Presently Microsoft fetches an amount of $ 9.3 billion in the market of customer relationship management software. The company ranks fourth in this market and is trying desperately to boost it profile. To fulfill this objective, Microsoft has lowered the price of its CRM software to seize greater market share than before. Similar tools for CRM are provided by enterprises like Oracle Corp, Saleaforce, SAP AG etc. The new pricing policy of Microsoft has made its product cheaper compared to the products offered by rest. This is a sure leverage for Microsoft’s business as it hoes to fair well in this market.

The response of Salesforce chief marketing officer, over the new pricing strategy of Microsoft’s customer relationship management software is extremely sarcastic. He has referred to the unsatisfactory performance of Microsoft’s Mp3 players, and expects the same to happen for CRM as well.

In response to this mocking comment by Saleforce, Microsoft has illustrated the price-to-value of its new product named Dynamics CRM. Internet-based software, Dynamics CRM, is set to be marketed in 40 countries and it comes in 41 different languages. The singularity of the product lies in its flexibility in customization and configuration. Microsoft is hoping this feature of flexibility to be the driving force for grabbing a high market share in CRM software.

Time will speak the truth as firms begin to deploy Dynamics CRM for their customer relationship management.

As the landscape of the digital world changes so often, social media platforms should be giving businesses enough cannon fodder to keep thinking about how to improve their business. Let’s not consider for a moment the fact that I just heard Facebook and Google are trying to buy Twitter for an estimated $8 – $10 billion, creating a digital behemoth no one could have foreseen. The rise of such social media platforms though has caused senior business executives to assess how they stay in touch with their customers and employees. It has caused them to have a fundamental rethink of the way in which they use the media for their own benefit.

People don’t want to be sold to or talked down to any more; they want to be informed by businesses that sincerely have no self-interests at heart. That is very hard to do since for-profit businesses will always have some of their own interests in mind at all time, but those that are sincere find the little benefits emerging. Take the Old Spice series of ads, which I found very refreshing (no pun intended). The TV ads were very good indeed, but it all really took off when those ads were tailored for Youtube and Twitter and aimed at celebrities as tightly targeted messages. Similarly, people will not seek out just ads, but ads that friends are watching as well.

And that works both ways. If something has gone wrong for you as a business, you will want to cover your tracks and make everything right very quickly since people will tell everyone in their network that things aren’t cool with you. It doesn’t take much to start a wildfire in the social media and you don’t want your business to be at the center of one that ravages it. Facebook, Twitter, and the likes of it are no longer optional extras or appetizers; they’re the main course when it comes to your business’ communication needs and it should be central to your brand strategies.

Make sure all your online presences are geared not just to handle customers, but prospects and queries as well. The speed at which these queries are resolved could make a massive difference. Recently, I tried to find out why my cellular service provider wasn’t letting me get through to customer care and I ran into road blocks time and time again. It was very frustrating until I tweeted them and got the whole thing resolved in a matter of hours. I can’t begin to tell you how impressed the speediness of problem resolution impressed me. That’s what your business should aim for with these social media platforms, to not just manage and inform visitors, but amaze and delight them. That’s when you’ll hit the jackpot.

There is a big difference between social media monitoring and measurement , and there is a certain degree of importance to doing both. But taking the first step in this direction can be mildly intimidating. Just when do you know to stop listening and start doing something? Just who do you engage? And when you do engage your audience, how do you go about engaging them? To ensure that your efforts at social media monitoring are successful, here’s what you should do.

Define your objectives

What exactly are you focused on monitoring? Don’t do it just because everyone else is doing it and its “hip”. Do it because you know what you want. Do it if you want to know what people are saying about your brand. Do it if you want to know what people are saying about something. Knowing what you want will help you allocate your resources better.

Know where to monitor

Social media is all about conversations and as such there is a lot of chatter in the space. At its core, social media is all about relationships. And you can’t talk to everyone at once, so pick and choose where you want to hang out. Digitally speaking, of course. And be wherever your audience generally is.

Know what to monitor

Social media monitoring is keyword-based, and so pick the right keywords. Try keeping a track of company, brand and product names. Even competitors can be tracked as also key executives. Keep a handle on what to track because it’s key to success.

Pick and choose

There is a lot to social media. It is voluminous. There’s just so much happening that you can’t be in every place at one time. So make your social media monitoring more intelligent. Be savvy in your choices and focus on whatever is important.

Plan

There has to be a contingency plan in place. In addition, you need to have a plan on how to engage your audience even in more routine scenarios rather than just in isolated cases. When a blogger praises you, use that to benefit both parties. Create a customer advocacy program if you can. Deal with irate customers in a fixed manner and listen to feedback about your competitors too. Think about all of this and have plans in place to deal with everything.

The human resource is one of the most important resources for any organization whether they are your employees or the customers or clients you are dealing with. The customer relationship management is a process that sets an organization to achieve its results by finishing its goals. A successful step for a CRM of a company to execute and implement involves three basic steps and no organization could be successful without following them. The three steps for a successful CRM involves setting your destiny, audit the current scenario of a company and mapping your forward journey to get to your destiny. Customer relationship management cannot be achieved single-handedly, it requires people to participate and make efforts. The CRM of a company is directly related to corporate strategies of the bigger organizations. The CRM is set according to the current sales strategy of companies taking into order the marketing tactics used currently. Now, lets get a little deeper into the concepts of the strategies for an organization:

The destination – for an organization to excel, it is necessary and important to set its path across, the destiny of an organization are set with the intent of keeping in mind the goals and vision prospective of an organization. The vision of the company is highly dependent on the leadership execution and implementation of steps. While designing the corporate CRM strategy, it is necessary to articulate the future prospective and the goals of the company along with keeping in mind the profitability and customer experience in mind. Some organizations have a pre set CRM strategies but managers fail to understand that with change the strategies needs to be changed so make sure that you analyze the older strategies and bring in the new ones wherever necessary.

The Audit team – the successful audit and clear understanding of the company’s stand in the market is a strong method to know where the company lags behind or is ahead of. Through the audit evaluation you can fare a company to equivalent organization and set a benchmark to where your company stands as compared to the rest. The audit research are an important tools to bring up different strategies in an organization and also deciding where and what path to follow ahead.

Map the path ahead – for an organization to grow it might take many a years and it is equally important to plan the destiny to get much needed output from the project. The CRM strategy of an organization will set the perfect CRM vision for a company to grow and excel ahead.

The customer relationship management strategies are the strong bones of a company to prosper and get results or work done from their employees. The CRM vision shows the blueprint of where the organization should be, is or how it should be. A common CRM strategy answers you the quantitative questions for the success of the company like what is your customer base? What price you want to sell the products? What are the marketing plans? How to attract buyers? The main idea of a CRM implementation in any company is to avoid the rush in the development process and give customers the best output or service or a product.

There are numerous things that might be hard pinching when you talk of the term “Sell”. Getting REAL gets real difficult for many of you as you come to terms with the reality. Selling is a hard job and it takes lots of will power to do so but many people term it as a cheap job saying you have to beg for selling, requiring lots of persuasion, sell out, hard selling, inducement, and other things. Selling may not bring in good reputation but it brings in lots of money if you are serious at it. Some people have tendencies to react negatively when talking about sales and even before they start selling there is negativity that says they cannot sell.

There needs to be some amount of positivity built in that will do the job. But just the positivity in you is not going to bring or change people’s perceptions that have been built for years. You have to behave like a con artist to get what you want and obviously by not using unethical or immoral ways, or ugly actions, it does not work anyways. There are proper set standards and ways in which you can acknowledge proper sales and overcoming the fear of the people and making them positive about the sales reputation. The most important priority is to bring in the sales quotient inside your head. Here are some of the simplistic ideas that might help you do your sales much better:

Give your people the things they want and not what you offer to sell, the best way to attract your potential buyers are to serve them the best things they might be looking for.

Stop controlling people and see the change, they will start cooperating with you.

Do not attempt to keep talking about your own things, first listen to what your audience has to say and then they will quietly listen to you.

Help people with what they are looking for and there are better chances of making good amount of sales.

Do not try to meet your ends directly, first put your customers interest forward and give them what they are looking for and you will be better at dealing with them.

The ideas of selling lies within you, you have to use your skills where you want to use them. Stop controlling them (customers) and wait to see better results. Selling is all about building the bond, bring trust factor in your dealings. Give them the best quality items so that they keep coming back to you. Constantly, serve them with the best quality and make a good reputation in front of them. Successful selling brings good relationship to the parties, the buyers and the sellers. Create a win-win situation so that your and your customer’s self interests are served. Make your selling skills a by-product rather than a goal to satisfy your customers.

As it’s rightly said that, “Success comes to those who work hard” – it indeed does, but not always. A smart tricky step in a successful direction goes a long way in getting success in no time. Selling is the most crucial part in a business and it takes a lot to sell a product or services. In my personal experiences as a seller, I learnt some good lessons and thanks to my team leader who taught me great practical lessons. The books are not going to help you much unless you yourself get on to the ground and walk your own path. The very first and the most basic lesson I learnt in my salesman career was CREATING THE FIRST IMPRESSION. This very first impression is going to determine the course of your future sales cycle. Targeting your sales is not some rocket science; it can be achieved by your determined outlook and attitude.

The very first prospects for a successful relationship is to INTRODUCE YOURSELF, it is the most decent things you would do to yourself for a decent relationship ahead. Just introducing yourself will help you impress others as a true professional. Most of the times, people just ask for the person he is planning to meet and do not introduce themselves. This is going to be a loss for them as when you strike some conversation with the person at the reception desk, you can extract lots more information about the person or the company. Always appreciate the people even if they are strangers who helped you at your client’s company. Being polite and appreciative will help for further business in future.

The conversation would not be easy at first; you have to BREAK THE ICE somewhere. Before you enter his cabin make sure that you know well about his company and if possible his likes and dislikes. If you notice some family pictures around, then you can strike a good conversation talking about the place, the background, etc. if your prospect feels impressive about you, there are chances he may want to share some other information as well. As you get deeper into conversation, you can start relating your work life with his and slowly get talking about the product and how it is going to benefit him, etc.

The next important thing is to REVIEW YOUR TIME, you might have a decided time frame with your client and you have to finish convincing him within that period. This sounds like a challenging job to many especially they if they bond really well and the conversation goes in some other direction. If the time limit goes beyond the set time, you can include a sentence in your conversation that would convey him that you are asking if it is okay to carry on with their talks. This way he will feel respectful that you value their time. If they nod yes, then its all yours. If the manager had a bad day in office or on road or is worried about something, he is not going to pay attention to you and I have noticed, they squirm sometimes thinking how long is it going to take more.

If you really feel that the conversation is going in that direction, then you can ask your client if “YOU CAN TAKE SOME NOTES”. This is surely going to impress your customer that you are interested in his company and his goals. He will also like the important you are giving to his talks. This is a sure shot way of winning over your clients.

After you finish with the work, politely say “THANK YOU” and follow up later on. The end of the meeting is as much important as the start, look customer in eyes and thank him for his valuable time and talk to him that you really mean it. If he is a very busy personality, you can follow up with him on email or leaving a voice message on his mobile.

The most beautiful thing one can achieve in life is by being simple the same principle applies for common courtesy. A simple courteous statement can fetch you gold.

Not just the words, but even visuals need to be in line with the content on your website.

People don’t have much time to devote on just one particular thing, so make your site designed in such a manner, which is quick to browse and doesn’t take much time loading images. The SPEED OF NAVIGATION will help customer remain on your site and browse profusely.

If your website deals in delivering the products to their door step, make sure THAT YOU DELIVER THE PRODUTS WELL ON TIME and if its not possible, let them know in advance about it. Staying up to the promises helps them have faith in you as a company and your services.

The last thing that customer wants is good product service that is after sale service and also a valued GUARANTEE CARD, when you give guarantee for your products it helps them to repose the faith in your company and they might want to buy even more products from you.
